Coach Marsha here! I wanted to tell you about the AMAZING meal my husband and I had at Cafe You in Cape Coral, Florida. Dubbed "Vegantine's Day," the romantic ambiance was enhanced with tables decorated with black tablecloths and a pair of long-stem roses. Our meal began with Sopa de Chocolate, garnished with avocado and cilantro. Sadly, we were too hungry to take a picture of that dish, but I must say it was delicious!
The following dish was the Strawberry Pomegranate Salad, elegantly dressed and a true masterpiece on the plate.
Following that, the menu featured an item I was hesitant to try—Seared "Scallop" crafted from one of my least favorite vegetables... Mushroom! Nevertheless, I mustered the courage to taste it, and it was amazing! This seared trumpet mushroom was paired with a delicious beetroot risotto, and I must say, it was one of the best mushrooms I've ever had. My husband remarked that it truly resembled eating scallops!
However, the meal wasn't finished yet! Following that was the main course - Roasted Cauliflower Steak with romesco sauce and roasted tomato. The cauliflower steak was so tender it could be sliced with a fork, and the combination with the romesco and roasted tomatoes was so delicious that I joked with my husband about wanting to put that romesco on my toothbrush because it was that good! LOL!
Now for the dessert... Dark Chocolate Hemispheres with red fruit and raspberry icing. Calling this the perfect conclusion to a flawless vegan meal would be an understatement. It was rich and chocolatey without being heavy or too sweet. I would have purchased a dozen if they had more available!
Each course had a wine pairing option available, which I’m certain was delightful. Since my husband and I are not drinking, we opted for sparkling water instead. Overall, it was a fantastic evening filled with incredible vegan dishes. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Cafe You for breakfast or lunch, their regular menu is equally delicious and offers both vegan and non-vegan choices.
